It’s time for another monthly round-up. In April we celebrated Easter in a melting pot of Chocolate and Easter Eggs and Wedding season started.
On our cupcake decorating workshop this month, we made a selection of cute Easter characters and a Happy Easter plaque. Didn’t this student do well? I love the little blossom on the lamb. If you weren’t able to come along, check out our Cupcake Decorating Workshop page for next dates.
Our first drip cake is a vegan chocolate cake, with vanilla buttercream and a black icing drip decorated with dark chocolate and sprinkles – black and white themed as a tribute to a certain football team.
I had plenty of chance to practice my macarons with a sky blue and gold themed layer cake and matching cupcakes, topped with the recipients favourite treats – Turkish Delight, Milk Chocolate & Haribo Sweets. This cake was also made as a two-tier cake (which I completely forgot to photograph) as they managed to spread the birthday celebrations over most of the month – #birthdaygoals!
Another tribute to a football team, I handmade some bluebirds, happy birthday and 30 sugarpaste toppers for these personalised birthday cupcakes. I’m pretty sure we could put anything on a cupcake!
There was a distinctly navy blue theme to this month’s wedding cakes. The first being a gorgeous 3 tier, ombre ruffled cake, delivered to Fairy Hill.
And one beautifully simple white 3 tier wedding cake with handmade navy roses delivered to the Waterfront Museum. This cake was especially important to me, as it was made for friends and my husband was best man, so we got to watch this lovely couple get married and enjoy their day.
You may recall in my last round up I gave a shoutout to Girl Boss Club, and while I am not a top networker, I have met some lovely ladies at the meetings and this month saw my first collaboration with the bosses at Coast Creations. As wedding and event planners, Marcie and Jodie were hosting a flower crown making hen party at Brewstone and wanted some personalised cookies to give out on the day. These sugar cookies were hand-stamped with the date of the event, decorated with little blossoms then packaged and labelled. For some gorgeous photos check out Coast Creations’ Instagram.
Really looking forward to what May will bring!
Have a good one, Rhian x
