Good morning Cakers. It is 8am on a Saturday morning as I type this, I am sat down with my cup of coffee with essential oils in my diffuser, and wanted to just give you little update on things here at the Cakery.

It’s been a funny few weeks, and deciding whether or not to keep working has been tricky. Obviously I want to keep the business going, but also need to keep myself, my family and my customers safe. I have had a number of messages asking for cakes to order and I have decided that provided everyone is happy to maintain social distancing and contactless payment I will be taking cake orders. I will only be taking on those I know I am able to get done, as deliveries for supplies and acquiring ingredients are not reliable at the moment. I’m not taking on too many because… well, home schooling…. and after getting used to being alone in the house for the last few months it’s hard work having my husband and daughter here all the time too! I just can’t get over the amount of dishes that always needing washing…..

Anyway, if you are looking for a cake then get in touch by email, Facebook or Instagram and I’ll see what I can do.

I also have a new venture I am planning to launch in the next couple of weeks. It’s something a little different but I am REALLY excited about it.

With everything that is going on at the moment I’ve been finding that my little rituals, such as making a fancy cup of tea or choosing the oils for my diffuser, have helped to provide a break from the norm or change of focus in my day. From what I have seen on social media, everyone is very up and down at the moment, myself included. I have also noticed that people are taking the time to make memories, to be more mindful, to notice the little things, to practice gratitude – to find a little more magic in the everyday.

I know I have.

I’m looking for a cake for my daughter’s 16th Birthday on 03/09/20. I don’t know if you are interested in making the cake and discussing themes.

    Many thanks,
