This week saw the launch of ‘Swansea Takes on Period Poverty‘ or STOPP. A local organisation campaigning to end period poverty by providing free sanitary materials for all Swansea’s libraries and other facilities like the Glynn Vivian, Dylan Thomas Centre and Swansea museum, among others. They have made large donations to 4 Foodbanks and Swansea Women’s Aid, and will also be providing products for leisure centres, community centres, groups working with asylum seekers and refugees, and other charities and venues working with vulnerable women and girls.

The launch took place at Cinema & Co and included a whole host of entertainment, from the showing of the Oscar winning “Period. End of Sentence” and performances by Bronwen Lewis and others.

Louise got in touch to ask if we could supply some cupcakes for them to sell on at the event, and our Red Velvet with white chocolate ganache seemed the perfect choice.

I also managed to collect a few products to take along as a donation for the evening, so thank you to our contributors! For photos of the event, take a look at STOPP’s Facebook page and while you are there give them a like and a share to spread the word.

If you would like to make a donation there is a full list of ‘donation drop offs’ available on their facebook page.

A Bloody Good Night
